Terms of Use

These conditions govern every visit, search, and use of content on Cooke County Criminal History. Accessing any part of the website means that you agree to them. If you do not accept all of these terms, stop using the site.

NO FCRA USE. This privately owned website has no government affiliation and is not a consumer reporting agency. Neither the site nor its advertising partners offers a service for credit, employment, insurance, tenant screening, or any other purpose regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Its role is limited to locating Cooke County and Texas public-record resources.

1. What This Website Is

Cooke County Criminal History is an independent reference site. It does not store official criminal files, perform government background checks, retrieve records on request, or submit paperwork for a visitor.

Its content points to the Cooke County Sheriff, local court clerks, the Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Records Division, the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry, and other official custodians. Some pages also connect to outside search services.

2. Rules for Using This Site

You must use the website and any information reached through it lawfully.

  • Do not violate a federal, Texas, or local law
  • Do not stalk, intimidate, threaten, or harass a person
  • Do not use content for an FCRA-regulated decision
  • Do not seek unauthorized access to systems or accounts
  • Do not operate bots, scrapers, or automated collection tools against the pages
  • Do not impair performance or block access for another visitor

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information found here or through a linked tool may not be used to stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate, or unlawfully discriminate. Texas sex offender registry data is intended for safety awareness. Threats, vigilantism, and misuse against a registrant or household are prohibited and can lead to criminal or civil consequences.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

This website produces no consumer report, credit file, or background screening product and is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. You agree not to use site content or a linked result for any covered decision.

  • Do not make hiring or termination decisions
  • Do not evaluate a rental or housing applicant
  • Do not determine creditworthiness or insurance terms
  • Do not decide eligibility for a license, permit, benefit, or program where the FCRA applies
  • Do not carry out any other purpose regulated by the FCRA

When an authorized official check is needed, use the legally appropriate Texas DPS or FCRA-compliant provider.

5. No Legal Advice

Explanations of Cooke County records are general information, not legal advice. Only a licensed Texas attorney can advise how a charge, warrant, judgment, expunction, nondisclosure rule, or filing deadline applies to a specific matter.

6. No Warranties

The website and its content are provided "as is." No promise is made that:

  • Information will always be accurate, complete, or current
  • Access will be continuous or free from interruption
  • Every page will be free of defects or security risks
  • An outside search result will be complete or correctly matched

Cooke County and Texas records change through filing, correction, restriction, and disposition. Nothing here is an official statement by a court, sheriff, police department, clerk, or state agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links can lead to official agencies, courts, statutes, legal resources, advertisers, and outside search providers. We do not control their content, prices, privacy practices, availability, or results. Their own terms apply after you leave this website.

8. Intellectual Property

Unless stated otherwise, text, design, graphics, logos, and code belong to Cooke County Criminal History or its content partners. They may not be copied, distributed, altered, republished, or used to create derivative material without prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for a loss or damage arising from use of the website, reliance on its content, or use of a linked product or service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold us harmless from claims, demands, actions, expenses, and reasonable legal fees caused by your use of the site or breach of these terms.

11. Governing Law

Texas law governs these terms. A dispute related to use of the site must be brought in a court with jurisdiction in Texas. Government access to Cooke County records remains subject to the Texas Public Information Act, while criminal-history dissemination by DPS is governed by Government Code Chapter 411.

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised at any time. A revision becomes effective when the updated text is posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be limited, suspended, or ended at any time and without advance notice, including when use threatens the site or violates these terms.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms continue in effect. The affected provision will be limited only as much as necessary to make it enforceable.
