Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search box is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not keep or log those search terms on our own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If you email us, the message may be retained long enough to answer and manage the exchange. It is not shared outside our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Normal server and analytics records may collect technical information when a page loads.
- The device's Internet Protocol address
- Browser name and version
- Device category and operating system
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- A referring page or website, when supplied
- The date and time of each request
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small device files that help measure traffic, popular pages, and exit patterns. Analytics providers aggregate some of this activity. Browser controls can block cookies, although a feature may then work differently.
What We Do With This Data
Collected data is used for limited operating purposes.
- Delivering pages and maintaining site performance
- Routing a submitted search to the selected partner
- Understanding which resources visitors use
- Finding faults and resolving security or technical problems
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Cooke County Criminal History does not host, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general directions to the Cooke County sheriff and clerks, the Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Records Division, TDCJ, and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. Visitor information is not assembled into a consumer report, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes. Information entered there is governed by that company's privacy terms, including its retention and sharing choices. We do not control those rules. Review the provider's policy before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Cooke County offices, Texas agencies, courts, statutes, or outside tools. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination's privacy policy applies. Some advertising services may track use across websites on their own systems to select ads.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be available to service providers or authorities in these situations.
- A search company processes the query submitted to its tool
- An analytics service measures visits and site performance
- An advertising network delivers an ad
- A government body receives information required by a valid legal demand
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, commonly used safeguards protect information under our control. No connected system can be guaranteed free from intrusion, loss, or misuse, so absolute security cannot be promised.
Users Under 18
This resource is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If information from a minor is identified, a request can be made for its deletion.
Your Data Rights
Applicable law may allow access, correction, deletion, or limits on some processing. Texas criminal-record dissemination is separately governed by Government Code Chapter 411, while public requests to governmental bodies follow the Texas Public Information Act. Those government-record laws do not turn this private site into a record custodian.
- Ask what personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information
- Ask for deletion when applicable law permits it
- Object to or opt out of qualifying data processing
Updates to This Policy
